White ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) originates from Northeast China and Korea, where the plant's roots have been used for centuries. According to traditional Chinese medicine, white ginseng can be used to harmoniously balance yin and yang and is considered a tonic, which is why the roots are often referred to as a "power root". The mature roots contain a particularly large number of saponins, specifically ginsenosides. These have been the subject of numerous studies and can be differentiated according to the number and position of the hydroxyl groups bound to them. Our white ginseng root powder contains a high proportion of the bioactive ginsenosides Rg1 and Rb1. Today, ginseng rarely grows wild and is instead cultivated in a variety of conditions. The plant's ginsenoside content is largely dependent on factors such as the duration of its growth, soil quality, climatic conditions and altitude. Cultivation and Processing The ginseng in our white ginseng capsules is sourced from a traditional terroir in Korea, its region of origin. It grows at low elevations in South Korea and is only harvested after three to four years of growth. Following harvest, the roots are gently cleaned and sun-dried, then ground into a fine powder gently in order to preserve their nutrients. From the initial cultivation to the final steps taken during processing, the producer is subject to the highest Korean quality standards.

How are we different?
We obtain our nutrient-rich ginseng roots from one of the most renowned (and INSAM certified) producers in Korea, with over thirty years' experience in cultivating and processing premium ginseng.
The ginseng is grown in its native terroir in South Korea. The experienced growers have high quality standards and only cultivate genuine Korean Panax ginseng, which they process traditionally. The plants are grown for at least three to four years, then the roots are harvested and gently sun-dried. Unlike with red ginseng, the roots are not treated with steam following harvest, allowing them to retain their light colour. Grinding the whole root produces a fine powder which retains the full spectrum of phytochemicals found within this special root. No chemical additives are used and the natural spectrum of bioactive ginsenosides is preserved.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.
