The Rosalina tea tree (Melaleuca ericifolia) grows wild in further untouched nature on Flinders Island. The remote island, the largest of the Furneaux Group, lies in the middle of the Bass Strait between the Australian mainland and Tasmania. The harsh, highly variable marine climate of the Southern Ocean influenced by strong winds from the Southern Arctic Circle provides the ideal conditions for the formation of the complex natural constituents, such as 1,8-cineole, α- and β-pinene, and α-terpineol in these plants. The twigs and leaves are sustainably collected from wild-growing plants in small quantities between September and May and the essential oil is gently produced in the local distillery.

This high quality essential oil is made in a small company that was founded in Australia in 1980. It produces a small range of indigenous essential oils and plant extracts and works with local producers to expand the range. The essential oils and plant extracts are produced from sustainably cultivated or wild-collected plants. For the manufacturer, the traceability of the origin, sustainability and quality of the essential oils and plant extracts are top priorities.

The eucalyptus-like fragrance with a floral-spicy note invigorates, strengthens and centers body and mind. It gives zest for action, energy and joie de vivre.

Rosalina or lavender tea tree (Melaleuca ericifolia) from the myrtle family (Myrtaceae) grows endemic in south-eastern Australia, in the states of New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. There the plant can be found in coastal wetlands, sclerophyll forest or heathland. The shrub or small tree up to 9 meters tall has a grey-white papery bark and dark green, needle-like leaves. The aromatic white-cream umbel-shaped flowers appear in abundance in October and November. The essential oil has a unique scent combination of a mild tea tree oil with a lavender note. The oil combines the relaxing, soothing properties of lavender with the antibacterial agents of tea tree.
