This Spanish sage is cultivated according to organic standards in sunny, Mediterranean Spain. The very hot and dry days, and sometimes cool nights, allow the herbs to fully develop their valuable components and aromas, such as camphor and 1,8-cineole, in a balanced ratio. The herb is gently harvested, sorted and processed by experienced farmers, in their own distillery.

We source this essential oil from a renowned and certified producer located in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France. The company was founded in the early 20th century and today owns several essential oil crop farms worldwide, where the plants' origin and quality are well monitored. Production on these farms is passionate and adheres to the strict quality standards set by the French organic certification body EcoCert. After harvesting, the plants are either cold pressed or gently steam distilled in a stainless steel tank to release their essential oils.

The Lavender-leaved sage called "Spanish sage" belongs to the family of labiates (Lamiaceae). It grows widely in the southern Mediterranean, such as northern Africa, Spain and southern France. It grows very undemanding on stony soils and reaches a height of up to 60cm. The plant has gray-green lanceolate leaves and blue-violet flowers arranged in spikes from June to August.

The herbaceous-spicy fragrance vitalises body and mind and harmonises the nerves. The menthol notes have a gently opening and liberating effect.
