Our high-quality Sango coral products are sourced directly from the market leader in Okinawa, the southernmost region of Japan. They are 100% pure and are sustainably sourced at depths of over 50m. Due to the lack of sunlight, corals cannot live at such depths; this product is therefore derived from the fossilised remains of dead corals that have been naturally deposited at the bottom of the sea. This leaves the living corals around the Okinawa reef healthy and unaffected.
After harvesting, the fossil corals are washed, sterilised for over 10 minutes at 200°C and then dried. The corals are then sieved to filter out unwanted materials, then pulverised. The fine porous structure of the fossil coral, which is preserved by this production process, ensures that the powder has a large surface-area and that it can be ionised, thus resulting in a highly bioavailable product. The coral powder is tested by an independent laboratory in Germany and is guaranteed free from radioactivity (contains zero becquerels).
We use particularly high-quality, airtight flavour protection bags with zippers for packaging. These offer a high level of protection against moisture and external influences.
