How are we different?

We obtain our extract from the nutrient-rich ginseng roots grown by one of the most renowned (and INSAM certified) producers in Korea, with over thirty years' experience in cultivating and processing premium ginseng.

The ginseng is cultivated in its native terroirs of South Korea and Manchuria, Northern China. These are the only regions where genuine Korean Panax ginseng is cultivated and processed according to traditional methods. Our ginseng is grown by experienced farmers who follow strict guidelines and quality standards.

Since genuine Panax ginseng is almost extinct in the wild, we source our roots from a renowned grower who cultivates the plant in conditions that mimic its natural, wild growing environment. Only roots which are at least 6 years old are harvested, as these contain a variety of ginsenosides in high concentrations. The roots are gently steamed, which retains their valuable phytochemicals, and processed into a concentrated extract via an ultra-pure water extraction. The paste can then be stirred into warm water to drink as a tea.

Many commercial ginseng products list the ginsenoside content as equal to that of the saponins. However, ginsenosides are a special type of triterpene saponins which cannot easily be differentiated in a laboratory.

Our paste contains a standardised content of 130mg/g ginsenosides, of which 14 mg/g are Rb1, Rg1 and Rg3.

Effects

Red ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) originates from Northeast China and Korea, where the plant's roots have been used for centuries. The mature roots contain a particularly large number of saponins, specifically ginsenosides, and in traditional Chinese medicine are considered a tonic, which is why they are often referred to as a "power root". Due to the global popularity of genuine Panax ginseng, it is almost extinct in the wild and primarily exists as a cultivated plant.

Ginsenosides have been the subject of several studies and can be differentiated into the main ginsenosides (panadiols) and secondary ginsenosides such as panaxdiols and panaxtriols according to their chemical structure, particularly the number of attached hydroxyl groups.

After harvesting, the roots of Panax are treated with steam to preserve the valuable ingredients. In the process, the root turns red and becomes more resistant, and other active substances are produced, such as maltol. This process is also known as the Maillard reaction.

Cultivation and Processing

Since genuine Panax ginseng is almost extinct in the wild, we source our roots from a renowned grower who cultivates the plant in conditions that mimic its natural, wild growing environment. Our producer has over thirty years of experience in the cultivation and processing of genuine Panax ginseng and is constantly developing new technologies. Additionally, the producer holds several patents and is subject to high INSAM quality standards.

INSAM is a registered Korean trademark which only certifies manufacturers who grow and process 100% genuine Panax ginseng and meet the additional requirements of the Ministry of Agriculture for product quality.
