Our Poria cocos extract is obtained from the Poria cocos mushroom (Wolfiporia extensa) via pure water extraction in a ratio of 10:1. This gentle extraction process ensures that the natural spectrum of ingredients is preserved as well as possible. No other solvents such as methanol or acetone are used. This ensures the natural purity of the raw material.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.
Poria cocos is also known as Indian bread or coconut mushroom due to its appearance. It thrives in the heartwood of pine trees, where it grows underground like a potato or truffle. It can be found from eastern China to Australia and the south-east of the USA. As the fruiting body cannot yet be industrially cultivated, the mycelium of the mushroom cultivated on a millet substrate is used. Due to its high nutrient density, it used to be an emergency food for the indigenous people to protect themselves from starvation. Poria cocos is also used as a medicinal mushroom in naturopathy and traditional Chinese medicine.
Take 1 capsule with 200ml of water before a meal on an empty stomach daily.
