The knowledge of the Chinese tradition about the benefits and cultivation of vital mushrooms, which is more than 2000 years old, is unique. Even today, Chinese cultivars produce the richest mushrooms. Cultivation has been perfected to the point where cultivated mushrooms are in no way inferior to their wild grown ancestors. Our mushrooms come from Fujian in Gutian County, the world's most renowned region for vital mushrooms. Our partner farm is certified organic according to EU standards and attaches great importance to natural, traditional cultivation methods. Mushrooms are handpicked between July and October at the maximum of natural content.
Mushrooms consist of the above-ground fruiting body and the mostly underground mycelium. The important constituents of the mushroom are concentrated in the above-ground fruiting body. Products from the underground mycelium are much cheaper, because it is much faster, cheaper and easier to grow, but they contain almost no valuable ingredients. Our mushroom powders and extracts are therefore obtained exclusively from the whole fruiting body of the mushrooms, including the stems, and contain the full wealth of valuable ingredients.
Among the most valuable components of the vital mushrooms are the mushroom polysaccharides, especially the beta-1,3- and beta-1,6-D-glucans. Our mushroom extracts bundle these substances into a rich concentrate. They are extracted by the traditional method using only water, the purest and gentlest extraction process. As a result, they do not contain any residues of chemical solvents (such as acetone, N-hexane, methanol).
