Only freshly harvested, organic fruit are used for our premium freeze-dried mango pieces. After harvesting, they are gently freeze-dried, thus preserving their valuable range of nutrients and guaranteeing their intense flavour. Our mango pieces are 100% natural and require no preservatives. They make a great snack or addition to muesli, porridge or yoghurt.
Mango
Mangos were mentioned in ancient India as the "food of the gods;" fruit as a gift is still regarded as a sign of wealth. The mango tree can grow up to 35m high and produce fruit for over 300 years. Originally from India, the mango tree now thrives in all tropical regions of the world. Over 1000 varieties of mango have been cultivated, which differ by shape, size and flavour.
Our freeze-dried fruits are produced using a particularly gentle process in order to preserve sensitive ingredients such as flavours and bioactives. In the first step, the fruits are frozen at very low temperatures, freezing their water content. Next, the pressure is reduced and the temperature is slowly increased so that the ice transitions directly from a solid to a gas. This removes the majority of the water from the fruits while retaining their natural structure. In the final step, the remaining water is extracted, giving the fruits their porous, light structure and extremely long shelf life.
This gentle freeze-drying method ensures the retention of the fruit's natural flavour and its full spectrum of nutrients. Our freeze-dried fruits can be enjoyed all year round.
