Finest Origin - Highest Grade

These orange trees grow according to controlled organic standards on a family-run farm in Sicily. The company specialises in the cultivation of citrus fruits and has been certified organic since 2002. The island's Mediterranean climate, with its dryness, high temperatures and the influence of Mount Etna, provides the ideal growing conditions for citrus trees, allowing the orange to develop its aromas, mainly limonene and β-mycrene, harmoniously. The ripe fruit is periodically harvested by hand, sorted, cleaned and then the essential oil is pressed from the fresh peel of the fruit in the cold pressing plant.

Farm

We source this essential oil from a small family-run company in Sicily. The company was founded in the 1970s and specialises in citrus fruits. The first organic cultivation began in 2002 and is continuously adapted to the latest findings and the cultivation areas are expanded. The mineral soils and the Mediterranean climate of this sunny region as well as the many years of experience in cultivation, care, harvesting and processing are reflected in the high-quality essential oils from this producer. The essential oils are cold-pressed in the company's own production facilities and have been awarded EU organic certification.

orange

The evergreen orange tree (Citrus sinensis) belongs to the rue family (Rutaceae) and is a cross between the pomelo (Citrus maxima) and the mandarin (Citrus reticulata). Citrus trees originate from the south-eastern foothills of the Himalayas, a region that includes eastern Assam (India), northern Myanmar and western Yunnan (China). The orange is a roundish shrub or small tree with oval-elliptical leaves 5-15cm long. In spring, its freshly aromatic, white flowers about 4cm in size bloom and develop into orange fruits.

Aroma

The fruity-sweet aroma conveys a feeling of joy and cheerfulness. The aroma has a calming and relaxing effect and can be supportive in cases of anxiety, helping to brighten the mood with its sunny energy.
