Our omega-3 complex delivers a 100% natural and purely plant-based combination of all the most important omega-3 fatty acids as well as a broad spectrum of other fatty acids and phytochemicals. This complex contains the active omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA, the main precursors of ALA and omega-6 GLA, as well as a mixture of natural oils derived from algae, linseed, chia, moringa, sea buckthorn, and MCT coconut oil.
The central component of this complex is a high-dose and 100% vegan combination of the bioactive omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA, derived from algae. Although utilising fish oil is controversial due to its ecologically and ethically questionable production processes and the ways in which heavy metals can bioaccumulate in fish, many omega-3 formulas on the market are derived from fish oil. Our omega-3 stands out among these products thanks to its plant-based formula, which is derived from natural algae oil. This ethical, sustainable source of omega-3 fatty acids also contains many other beneficial phytochemicals, and is not contaminated by environmental toxins.
Our omega-3 is derived from the micro algae Schizochytrium sp., which has the highest plant-based DHA content available. This algae provides directly bioactive DHA and EPA in an ideal ratio, rather than just offering the inactive ALA precursor, as in the case of linseed oil.
In this product, omega-3 fatty acids come directly in their highly bioavailable and natural triglyceride form. The vast majority of concentrated fish oil products consist of ethyl ester concentrates, which are not well-absorbed by the body, while omega-3 fatty acids as triglycerides have a 50% to 300% better absorption rate.
The freshness of the algae oil is confirmed by the very low degree of oxidation of the oil (TOTOX value: 2 in the raw material, 11.64 in the end product). The laboratory test can be found under the tab below.
The micro algae used for this product is cultivated in sustainable aquacultures that do not interfere with the sea's natural ecosystem, meaning that our omega-3 has no negative impact on fish populations or their natural food sources. Algae oil offers an eco-friendly source of omega-3, as many tonnes of carbon dioxide are bound from the atmosphere during the production process.
The two omega-3 fatty acids are embedded within a rich matrix of high-quality plant-based oils. We use ultra pure, vegan softgel capsules made from tapioca starch (manioc root) as capsule shells. They are custom made and do not contain hidden additives such as PEG and carrageenans. High-quality amber glass jars to protect against light are used for the packaging of this product.
