Our Mild Maca Mushroom Brew is a harmonious composition of selected medicinal mushrooms and superfoods. For outstanding taste, optimum solubility and a full spectrum of medicinal mushrooms and plants in one cup.
Carob
Carob is the dried and ground pulp of the carob pods. The typical taste is aromatic, sweet and reminiscent of caramel and cocoa. Our organic carob powder comes 100% from the native carob tree from cultivation without pesticides in Sicily. Over 70% of the world's traditional carob production takes place there, as traditional carob cultivation has been closely linked to Sicilian culture for centuries, meaning that the fruit from the Mediterranean island is considered to be particularly tasty and rich.
Maca mix
The famous maca plant (Lepidium meyenii) is a member of the cruciferous family. It belongs to the genus Lepidium and is therefore related to watercress, garden cress, rapeseed and mustard. Maca is native to the Peruvian Andes and has been cultivated there at high altitudes for around 2000 years. Maca is also known as Peruvian ginseng and is a staple food in the Andes. There are various types of maca, which differ in terms of colour and spectrums of ingredients. The main types of maca are yellow, black, purple and red. However, the powders of the different Maca colours have only minimal colour differences (in contrast to the appearance of the root tubers).
Coconut milk
The coconut palm (Cocos nucifera L.) belongs botanically to the palm family. Known as the "tree of heaven," it is native to South East Asia and Malaysia. Botanically speaking, coconuts are not a nut at all, but a drupe. It is widely believed that coconut milk is found inside the coconut. However, the creamy coconut milk is made from the flesh of the freshly harvested coconut. The nutrient-rich coconut water, on the other hand, is found in the young, green coconuts.
Cacao
The history of cocoa dates back to the 14th century, when the Aztecs considered cocoa to be sacred and worshipped it as a gift from God. They used cocoa beans not only as an offering and a means of payment, but also to make a bitter, spicy drink called Xocóatl, from which the word chocolate originated.
Our cocoa powder is grown without pesticides in the heart of the Amazon region of Peru. The raw cocoa beans come directly from a renowned fine cocoa finca in San Martín (single origin). Our cocoa powder consists of a 100% blend of the fine cocoa varieties Criollo and Trinitario. After careful harvesting, the cocoa beans are gently processed by experienced small farmers. This ensures that the full bitter taste and the wealth of valuable phytochemicals are fully preserved.
Mace
The nutmeg tree is a tropical plant that originally comes from the Moluccas, an Indonesian archipelago. Similar to apricots, the fruits hang on the branches of the evergreen trees. When they ripen, they burst open and release the nutmeg. Mace is not actually a flower, but the red seed coat that remains when the fruit of the nutmeg tree is freed from its pulp.
Cinnamon
Our 100% pure organic Ceylon cinnamon powder comes from the evergreen true cinnamon tree (Cinnamomum zeylanicum, also known as Cinnamomun verum). This variety, also known as Ceylon cinnamon or true cinnamon, is considered the finest and most aromatic type of cinnamon in the world. Our cinnamon powder is made from the fine inner bark of the cinnamon tree. For this purpose, up to ten fine layers of the inner bark of the cinnamon tree are obtained, which are rolled into a closed stick. The finer the individual layers, the finer the cinnamon aroma develops with its naturally light sweetness. Cinnamon contains the cinnamon oil responsible for its unique taste and numerous other valuable ingredients.
Cordyceps
Cordyceps is an extremely rare and precious mushroom. It is mainly found at over 3000m in the high plateaus of Tibet, where it was discovered by yak herders who noticed an extraordinary vitality and resistance in their animals, which ate Cordyceps mushrooms while grazing. Cordyceps has been used in the Chinese tradition for almost 1500 years.
Reishi
Reishi is one of the most important mushrooms in traditional Chinese herbalism. Revered as the "mushroom of immortality" or "mushroom of eternal life," it is perhaps the most important basic mushroom there. According to tradition and early records, reishi has been used for around 4000 years.
Chaga
The Chaga mushroom originally comes from Siberia and northern China. It thrives on birch and other trees and is mainly native to the large birch forests of Russia, northern and eastern Europe and the Baltic states, as well as Canada, Alaska, northern USA, Korea and Japan. Mushrooms from living birch trees are particularly attractive for consumption as medicinal mushrooms. Inhabitants of Siberia have long made the mushroom into a strengthening tea and nicknamed it "God's gift." Chaga has had a firm place in Russian and Chinese tradition for around 4000 years.
Sunflower Lecithin
Lecithin is a component of animal and plant cell membranes and belongs to the group of phospholipids. It is technically referred to as phosphatidylcholine. Phospholipids are composed of fatty acids, glycerol, phosphoric acid and choline and occur naturally in the human body.
Guar Gum
The particularly creamy texture of our Mild Maca Mushroom Brew is due to the organic guar gum, which is obtained from Indian guar seeds (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba).
