Daily Requirements
Zinc
Zinc is an essential trace element that must be supplied in sufficient quantities every day. The official daily requirement (DGE) for zinc in Germany is 7mg for women and 10mg for men (NRV: 10mg) in order to avoid a deficiency. There is an increased need for zinc in certain diseases, such as hypothyroidism in particular, as well as during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Manganese
The European EFSA has set a reference value of 2mg for the daily requirement of manganese. According to the German Nutrition Society, adults need 2-5mg of manganese per day, depending on their needs.
Magnesium
The German Nutrition Society recommends a daily intake of 300 to 400mg magnesium (NRV: 375mg). However, the need for magnesium varies from person to person according to biochemical individuality and can be greatly increased in stressful situations.
Selenium
The official daily requirement (DGE) for selenium in Germany is 30-70µg (NRV: 55µg) to avoid a deficiency.
Chromium
The European EFSA has set a reference value of 40µg for the daily requirement of chromium. According to the German Nutrition Society, adults need 30-100µg of chromium per day. However, as the chromium content of our food varies greatly, this is not always guaranteed.
Molybdenum
The German Nutrition Society's recommended intake of molybdenum is 50-100µg per day for adults.
