How are we different?

Generic MSM products are derived from DMSO and hydrogen peroxide, and produced via crystallisation. As part of this process, the MSM solution is cooled down so that the MSM becomes crystallised and can be separated from the carrier substance. With such a method it is possible that impurities such as DMSO and auxiliary agents become embedded within the MSM crystals, leading to impurities in the end product.

Our OptiMSM® is a premium active ingredient from the American producer Bergstrom Nutrition. This MSM is not produced through crystallisation, but rather a patented distillation method. The distillation enables a complete separation between the MSM and yields an extremely pure final product with 99.8% MSM and absolutely no impurities. OptiMSM® is the only MSM ingredient produced according to this method. Each OptiMSM® batch is laboratory tested to ensure optimal purity, quality and consistency.

The powder is contained in environmentally-friendly, 100% biodegradable and compostable packaging made from starch, cellulose and paper.

MSM

Organic Sulphur

Sulphur is an essential mineral which plays a role in many bodily processes. Sulphur is the 8th most prevalent mineral in the body and alongside calcium, potassium, magnesium, sodium, and phosphorus serves as one of the building blocks for diverse bodily tissues. Sulphur is especially important for the formation of collagen, which is an important component of connective tissues as well as cartilage, hair, and nails. This mineral is furthermore necessary for the synthesis of amino acids, enzymes, hormones, and other important bodily compounds such as the antioxidant glutathione. As a component of disulfide bridges and numerous amino acids including methionine, taurine, and cysteine, sulphur can be found in all parts of the body.

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM)

Because methylsulfonylmethane is bonded with hydrocarbons, it is also sometimes referred to as an organosulphur compound. MSM is a biologically active sulphur compound with a sulphur content of 34%.

Dosage

Directions

Take 1 spoonful (approximately 2g MSM, of which 680mg sulphur) twice daily with 200ml water. MSM can be taken at mealtimes to improve digestibility, or between meals in the morning and afternoon. Taking MSM in the evening is not recommended as it may make it harder to fall asleep.

Note: Up to a concentration of 4g per litre, MSM can be dissolved in a large glass of water with only a slightly bitter taste. The more MSM is used, the stronger the taste becomes. This can be masked by adding fruit juice.

Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced, varied diet and healthy lifestyle. Keep out of reach of young children.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
