Finest Origin - Highest Grade

This mango myrtle (Syzygium oleosum), also known as 'blue lilly pilly ,' is sustainably cultivated in its endemic habitat, the subtropical northern region of the Australian state of New South Wales. This unique aromatic plant with a distinctive scent of fruity green mango was discovered by our producer, who then propagated the plant and cultivated its saplings onsite for essential oil production. During cultivation, pesticides are avoided, and only organic fertilisers are used. Additionally, plant material generated during the distillation process is recycled as fertiliser. The subtropical climate in the picturesque Byron Bay outback provides the ideal conditions for the development of natural aromas in the plant, such as alpha- & beta-pinene, terpinoline, gamma-terpinolene and myrcene. Fresh leaves and young branches are distilled directly after harvest in the summer months using the onsite distillary to produce this highly aromatic essential oil.

Farm

The manufacturer of this special essential oil has been working with indigenous Australian plants for over 30 years. Since the early 1990s he has been committed to landscape conservation and the sustainable and prudent use of native plants, and since 2012, he has been selling exclusively indigenous essential oils and hydrosols from both his own production and from that of his collaborators throughout Australia. The indigenous plants used in the production of his essential oils and hydrosols are either wildcrafted or sustainably cultivated.

Mango Myrtle

The evergreen plant blue lilly pilly (Syzygium oleosum) belongs to the large myrtle family Myrtaceae and is found in tropical rainforests in the Australian states of Queensland and New South Wales. This small tree reaches a height of 4 to 15 metres. Its glossy dark green leaves emit a lemon-like scent when crushed. In spring, small creamy-white flowers appear, which gradually turn into indigo cherry-sized fruits as they mature, initially starting as pink. The fruits are edible and have a flavour reminiscent of ginger and lavender. They can be consumed fresh or cooked in jams, syrups, or sauces.

Aroma

The woody, citrusy aroma evokes memories of warm summer days, invigorating and refreshing while creating a cheerful mood.
