Key Lime Oil Organic

Finest Origin - Highest Grade

These lime trees thrive on the family-run farm in the southern part of the Mediterranean island of Sicily, which operates according to controlled organic standards. The island's Mediterranean climate, with drought, high temperatures and the influence of Mount Etna, provides the ideal growing conditions for citrus trees, allowing the lime to develop its aromas, such as limonene, ɣ-terpinene or β-pinene, harmoniously. The fruit is harvested by hand at the optimum time between August and October. After sorting and cleaning, the fresh peels are cold-pressed in the cold-pressing plant on site.

Key Lime Oil Organic

Farm

We source this essential oil from a small family-run company in Sicily. The company was founded in the 1970s and specialises in citrus fruits. The first organic cultivation began in 2002 and is continuously adapted to the latest findings and the cultivation areas are expanded. The mineral soils and the Mediterranean climate of this sunny region as well as the many years of experience in cultivation, care, harvesting and processing are reflected in the high-quality essential oils from this producer. The essential oils are cold-pressed in the company's own production facilities and have been awarded EU organic certification.

Key Lime Oil Organic

Key lime

The exotic-smelling limes belong to the rue family (Rutaceae) and are mainly found in Mexico, Central America and the West Indies. Today, they are also cultivated in regions with similar climates such as Spain and Italy. The evergreen shrub or small tree grows up to 5 metres high and produces leathery, dark green leaves. It bears intensely fragrant, white flowers and fruits in various stages of ripeness throughout the year.

Its herbaceous, tangy, green sweetness conveys calm, balance and lifts the mood. The fresh aroma provides clarity and focus and supports concentration.
