Our Iron Complex Pro 22.5mg combines three particularly bioavailable, organic iron compounds with numerous cofactors that synergistically support the iron metabolism and optimally meet the needs of athletes.

Organic forms of iron bisglycinate, lactate and gluconate

According to current research, iron bisglycinate has the highest bioavailbility of all iron compounds. Iron is bound as a chelate to the amino acid L-glycine and can be absorbed particularly well by the body in this form. Although glycine occurs naturally in nuts, soybeans or lentils, it cannot be isolated from them in large quantities, which is why we have opted for glycine or iron bisglycinate as a pure substance. It is therefore suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Iron lactate is also a very bioavailable chelate in which iron is bound to the salt of lactic acid (lactate). Contrary to its name, iron lactate is not obtained from milk and is therefore purely vegan. The iron compound is often used as a food additive (e.g., for colouring black olives) and is often found in baby food. The iron lactate for our Iron Complex Pro 22.5mg has a particularly high purity of at least 96%. We also use the organic iron form ferrous gluconate, in which iron is bound to the salt of naturally occurring gluconic acid. We also use this iron compound as a pure substance with a purity of at least 98%.

Vitamin C, B-complex, copper as cofactors in iron metabolism

To improve iron absorption, iron transport and haematopoiesis, our iron complex contains buffered vitamin C as calcium ascorbate, particularly pure copper lysinate (98% purity) and a B-complex with bioactive vitamin forms. It contains vitamin B12 as the patented MH3A® formula and folic acid as Magnafolate® Pro.

Natural lactoferrin

As a special bonus, our Iron Complex Pro 22.5mg is supplemented with the biologically active whey protein lactoferrin. We only use high-quality, particularly pure lactoferrin with an excellent purity of at least 95%. The milk used comes from sustainable production in Australia with high standards of animal welfare. Our partner has its own animal welfare policy and a comprehensive program for animal welfare and protection. The focus here is on both the physical and mental welfare of the animals. Although lactoferrin is derived from cow's milk, our end product is considered lactose-free (<0.1% lactose) thanks to the efficient purification process, so that those with lactose intolerance can also consume it.

L-carnitine, glutathione and glycine

Designed especially for athletes, our iron complex contains the essential amino acid glycine with a purity of at least 98%, reduced L-glutathione from fermentation and acetyl-L-carnitine as the acetylated form of the amino acid L-carnitine.

For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.

Effects

The trace element iron is essential for oxygen transport in the blood, cellular respiration and maintaining the immune system and normal cognitive performance. Iron is found in large quantities in legumes, meat and cereal products, although in the latter it is often in a less bioavailable form. In addition to children and adolescents, women of childbearing age (especially during pregnancy and breastfeeding) and athletes should have their iron levels checked regularly and ensure that they have a sufficient iron intake.

High bioavailability: combination with cofactor vitamin C

Three organic iron sources are combined in our iron complex. The combination of different iron sources with different properties and absorption rates has a particularly beneficial effect on overall bioavailability. In addition, iron absorption is optimised by buffered vitamin C (calcium ascorbate), as vitamin C also contributes to improved iron absorption.

Iron metabolism and haematopoiesis: synergistic cofactors

Our iron complex is rounded off with copper for functioning iron transport and B vitamins for synergistic support of blood formation.

Daily Requirements

According to the German Nutrition Society (DGE), the official daily requirement for iron is 15mg for women and 10mg for men and individuals over the age of 51 (NRV: 14mg).
