White Panax Ginseng
White ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) originates from Northeast China and Korea, where the plant's roots have been used for centuries. The mature roots contain a particularly large number of saponins, specifically ginsenosides, and in traditional Chinese medicine are considered a tonic, which is why they are often referred to as a "power root".
The ginseng in this complex is grown in an indigenous terroir in South Korea which exclusively cultivates genuine Panax ginseng. The plants are grown for at least four to five years, then the roots are harvested, sun-dried and gently ground into a fine powder by experienced growers according to traditional methods and high quality standards. Our white ginseng root powder contains a high proportion of the bioactive ginsenosides Rg1 and Rb1.
Ginkgo Biloba
The Chinese Ginkgo biloba tree is venerated as a holy tree in East Asian cultures and, alongside the olive tree, is one of the longest-living and most resilient trees on the planet. Our extract, derived from Gingko biloba leaves harvested in the Crested Ibis Nature Reserve in the central Chinese province of Shaanxi, is gently extracted using water and food grade ethanol.
The leaves of the Ginkgo Biloba tree contain terpenes such as ginkgolides and bilobalides as well as antioxidative substances, including flavonoid glycosides such as quercetin and kaempferol. Every compound retained in our premium, highly concentrated 45:1 ginkgo extract is laboratory tested using reliable measures. With 26.86% flavonoid glycosides (reference value 22-27%) as well as 6.77% ginkgolides (reference value 5-7%), this extract boasts high concentrations of these compounds.
Since raw ginkgo leaves contain ginkgoic acid, which can cause allergic reactions and is believed to be potentially damaging to cells, the limit for ginkgoic acid in ginkgo extracts is 0.0005%. Regular laboratory testing indicates that our ginkgo extract has a guaranteed concentration of 0.000051% ginkgoic acid, an amount 10 times below the limit. As a result, our extract is highly pure.
Gotu Kola
The final extract in our complex is an ultra-pure water-ethanol extract of Indian Gotu Kola. Our gentle processing methods allow for the 6:1 extract to retain a standardised content of 10% asiaticosides.
Gotu Kola is a member of the Apiaceae family and is also commonly known as Indian pennywort and Asiatic pennywort, as well as by its botanical name, Centella asiatica. Native to Southeast Asia, the plant thrives in tropical climates and is found primarily in India and Sri Lanka but also in China, Indonesia, South America and Malaysia. It is valued for its bitter taste and is often used in its native regions for cooking. Gotu Kola is important in Indian Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine and is used both topically and for oral consumption.
Gotu kola contains terpenoids such as asiaticoside and brahmoside, amino acids such as alanine and serine, phenolic compounds such as quercetin as well as the carbohydrates meso-inositol and centellose.
