The production of our vegan gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) does not involve the use of any animal products, including gelatine, hair and feathers. Instead, this amino acid is obtained through the fermentation of non-GMO corn, wheat protein and yeast (completely plant-based substrates) by Lactobacillus hilgardii. This common bacterial strain is used in various culinary processes, such as the preparation of the traditional Korean dish kimchi and the production of wine.
Our manufacturer has specialised in the production of plant extracts for over 10 years. The elaborate manufacturing process results in a high-quality, completely vegan raw material with a purity level of at least 98% – no additives. The carefully purified final product does not contain any corn starch, gluten or yeast.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.
