The trees have their perfect growing conditions in this sunny region. The twigs with needles contain the valuable aromas, which are formed in a harmonious ratio, such as alpha- and beta-pinene. The twigs are gently harvested and brought to the local distillery, where they are processed with steam to the particularly aromatic essential oil.

Scots pine, also called common pine or pine, belongs to the pine family (Pinaceae). This evergreen, hardy tree, forms a broad crown and can grow up to 3m high. It forms the bright yellow inflorescences from April to May, after which the decorative cones develop. It is a native plant, generally likes to grow in Europe as well as Northern Asia.
