How the food reaction test works:
IgE and IgG4 are so-called immunoglobulins. They fend off substances in the body that are recognised as harmful by the immune system.
IgE is a special class of antibodies that recognises and prevents the entry of hostile substances into the body by triggering reactions that impede or block entry. The typical symptoms associated with IgE binding include tearing, diarrhoea, vomiting, coughing, cramps, redness, itching and high temperature.
The IgG4 antibody class is active when foreign substances have entered the body and must be deactivated as quickly as possible. The body's defense system against pathogenic bacteria and viruses is essentially based on the IgG4 antibody. In order to block and destroy foreign bodies, a defense and inflammatory reaction is set in motion. The reactions are usually not immediately felt as strongly as with IgE. However, if left unnoticed for a longer period of time, they can cause lasting damage and chronic discomfort.
Your sample will be tested in the laboratory for food allergies by examining IgE antibodies and for food intolerance by IgG4 evaluation.
