Finest Origin - Highest Grade

The eucalyptus used to produce this essential oil grows wild in the untouched landscape of its native region of Kangaroo Island, South Australia. With its sunny weather and moderate winter rainfall, the coastal, Mediterranean climate of the island allows the plant to develop its distinctive aroma, which is characterised by a very high eucalyptol content. The green twigs and leaves are collected in spring and, while still fresh, steam distilled in the local distillery to produce this pure essential oil.

Farm

The manufacturer of this special essential oil has been working with indigenous Australian plants for over 30 years. Since the early 1990s he has been committed to landscape conservation and the sustainable and prudent use of native plants, and since 2012, he has been selling exclusively indigenous essential oils and hydrosols from both his own production and from that of his collaborators throughout Australia. The indigenous plants used in the production of his essential oils and hydrosols are either wildcrafted or sustainably cultivated.

Eucalyptus (E. cneorifolia)

Eucalyptus is an ancient plant from the days of Gondwana; the oldest known eucalyptus fossils, found in Patagonia, show evidence of flowers, fruits and leaves that date back 52 million years. Many primordial plant species were preserved on the Australian continent after its isolation, most notably the eucalyptus; of the approximately 900 species of Eucatyptus, about 95% are native to Australia. Eucalyptus cneorifolia, also known as Kangaroo Island narrow-leaved mallee, belongs to the myrtle family (Myrtaceae) and is indigenous exclusively to Kangaroo Island, South Australia. The evergreen shrub or small, multi-stemmed tree reaches heights of up to 10m. A multitude of oil glands are visible on its long, lance-like, olive green leaves. From December to April, the tree develops clusters of white flowers which develop into small, woody seed pods.

Aroma

The fresh scent clears the air and facilitates deep breathing. The fragrance gives a sense of buoyancy, bringing a lightness to life.
