Essential oils, which are contained in all manner of plants and herbs, have been used in traditional medicine in the form of spices, teas and tinctures for thousands of years. Each essential oil has a highly individualised and complex composition made of hundreds of plant compounds, mostly terpenes. In their highly concentrated form, pure essential oils can cause irritation to the body, which is why they have only been used for consumption under certain circumstances. However, using new patented technology these effective oils can be ingested in a concentrated form with high bioavailability and tolerability as a purely natural and 100% plant-based food supplement.
The individual essential oils are embedded in a matrix of natural inulin made from chicory. Inulin is a water-soluble fibre that safely carries the oils through the stomach and which can be digested by bifido intestinal bacteria, thereby supporting gut flora. Thus once in the intestines, the fat-soluble essential oils are released from the inulin matrix and absorbed into the blood where they are transported throughout the body.
Our eucalyptus essential oil is made from eucalyptus leaves grown in Portugal. The only other ingredient we use is premium acacia fibre produced by the market leader Inavea® and sourced from pesticide-free cultivation. In contrast to the usual synthetic fillers, we use this ultra pure natural filler that is also rich in dietary fibre. The soluble dietary fibres of acacia function as a source of food for bifido and lacto bacteria in the intestine. Inavea® acacia fibre is sourced from climate neutral, resource-saving and fair cultivation.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.
