The bergamot trees are cultivated in Calabria, Italy, by passionated and experienced farmers. There, the climate and the soils provide optimal growing conditions, allowing the fruits to develop a harmonious formation of compounds and flavours. Following harvesting, which takes place between October and February, the peels are processed in a local cold pressing plant. The essential oils are characterised by a unique aroma and intensity.

Bergamot is an evergreen tree belonging to the citrus family (Rutaceae). It forms petioles and a rounded crown, and its fragrant white flowers bear pale yellow, pear-shaped fruits. It is believed that bergamot originates from Asia, although today Calabria is well-known for bergamot cultivation.
